Making Videos
How do I get video from my camera/mobile device/camcorder to my computer?
If you have a digital video camera, you will need to get the video off your camera by connecting it to your computer (typically to a USB port). Once you've downloaded the video from the camera to your computer, you can upload it to ThisIsBozeman.com (provided that it is in one of the accepted formats).
If you have an analog video camera (one that uses VHS, VHS-C, SVHS-C, 8mm, or Hi8 tape), you can still get your videos on to ThisIsBozeman.com. You will need to digitize your video before uploading it. The Image Factory (Ph: 406-587-8918) in Bozeman, is a great, cost-effective resource for converting older video media to accepted digital formats in preparation for upload to ThisIsBozeman.com.
What format should my video be in order to upload it?
Accepted video formats on ThisIsBozeman.com include .WMV, .AVI, .MOV, .DIVX, .MP4 and .MPG. Note that some more complex H.264 video files won't work. H.264 .MOV files can be the most problematic. For the highest quality and performance, we suggest .MP4 and .DIVX.
